2022 IBA SS1K (Now) Cinco Choice Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan Saturday, June 25th , meet at 6:00 am. These rides will start at the rest area across the street from the Holiday gas station right off I-75 Exit 394 - very last exit off I-75 before the International Bridge. For those who can make it, dinner Friday @ 6:00 pm at Clyde's Drive-In ( picnic tables ) near the ferry to Sugar Island on the east side of the Soo , and a meeting after dinner. To get into Ontario, you will need to be fully vaccinated and no COVID test is required as of April 1st. Fully vaccinated is defined as having at least 2 vaccine injections - see the following links. No COVID Test Required after April 1st - see : https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada Of course requirements may change before the day of the ride. See: COVID-19: Travel, testing and borders for any changes. You will also need a passport or a Drivers License / ID that contains a RFID chip, not just a magnetic strip. A standard Drivers License does not contain an RFID chip. In the past, a standard Drivers License and a birth certificate would work but not anymore. You will also be required to set up an account at ArriveCAN. See : Help for ArriveCAN Also, you should carry proof of insurance coverage in Canada ( obtain from your insurance company or agent ). This is not a rider to your policy or extra coverage, only a card that your insurance company will provide to you. It's called a " Canada Non-Resident inter-Province Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Card". Also, BTW, no one convicted of a DUI within the last 10 years or a conviction of a felony is allowed to enter Canada. They check for that at the border in the computer. There is the Hell & Back SS1K and a UP / Wisconsin SS1K ride for those who are not vaccinated or not interested in jumping through the hoops required to get into Canada.
BTW, the road from
Thessalon to Chapleau and then to Wawa and then back to the Soo is a nice ride
on a motorcycle. I'm planning on doing just that loop myself, maybe. To be helpful, I will be submitting all successful Rider's info in a spreadsheet to the IBA to streamline the certification process. You do the ride and I'll handle the paperwork for you. The IBA will send invoices to all Riders for their payment. This has been pre-approved by the IBA. Jim V. vandenbe@triton.net
